The power of prayer is never to be underestimated. We all pray differently and at different
times during the day, or week. If you
are like me, I am willing to bet that your prayers sound like more of a
shopping list of things needed or wanted:
Please find me a job
Please give me THIS job!!!
How about the winning numbers in this week's lottery (another version of this is "Hey, do these numbers look good?)
Please, please, PLEASE
These are little more than pleas thrown out to get
something.
Let's try, together, a different approach. Find a quiet moment during your day and begin
a simple conversation. I will start...
"Hi, God. Got a
sec? Just wanted to check in and say,
'hi!'. Thanks for all the good things in
my life. Thanks for the wonderful family
that surrounds me. Really, just,
thanks. I love you."
I have learned through my church's prayer ministry that
shared prayer, with a partner or in full communion, is a wonderful, powerful
gift.
So, please post a prayer request in the comments section below. Or, if you prefer to share a personal, private prayer feel free to send a request to me directly and I will respond.
